GRECMAR
Research Group in Chronic Respiratory Disease
This research team is made up of professionals from different areas and levels of primary health care who carry out their work and research in various centres in the areas of north Barcelona and Maresme, under the guidance and with the participation of the North Metropolitan Research Support Unit. Some of the group's members form part of Maresme study group investigating Community-Acquired Pneumonia (GEMPAC). The basic objective of GReCMaR is to promote and consolidate knowledge within primary health care of the chronicity of respiratory diseases, knowledge which will lead to improved patient care and the optimum use of available resources. The group's lines are centered on prevention (giving up smoking, tertiary prevention, early detection and screening strategies), Service Evaluation (causes of COPD infradiagnosis and study of the diagnostic value of symptoms, signs and complementary tests) and the comobidity, longitudinality and treatment of patients with respiratory diseases.
