GRASSIR
Research Group in Sexual and Reproductive Health
Its lines of work are maternal and child health, gynecological health, the promotion of sexual and reproductive health of young people, Sexually Transmitted Infections (STI) and the use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) for Sexual and Reproductive Health. Executing research about prenatal care, nutrition during pregnancy, nuchal translucency measurement, postpartum period, breastfeeding, cervical cancer screening, strategies to improve the detection of STI, shared decision making, sex education and contraceptive methods. The main objective of the GRASSIR is the empowerment, improvement of the quality and consolidation of the research carried out in the field of Sexual and Reproductive Health, of the Territorial Management Metropolitana Nord of the Institut Català de la Salut, with transcendence international. It is composed of midwives, gynecologists, epidemiologists, anthropologists and an endocrinologist. The group is coordinated with other research groups such as: the Center for Epidemiological Studies on STI and AIDS in Catalonia (CEEISCAT), with researchers from the Research Program on Cancer Epidemiology (PREC), the Barcelona University, the Autonomous University of Barcelona, the Vic Hospital, the Sant Joan de Déu Hospital, the Clínic Hospital of Barcelona and with the Catalan Institute of Oncology. There is coordination as a reference center, with the Germans Trias i Pujol Research Institute (IGTP). One of its backbones is the perspective of sex and gender in all its dimensions and possibilities.
