Hepatic Diseases in Primary Care Research Group

The Group of Hepatic Diseases in Primary Care belonging to the Metropolitan North USR of the Barcelona province was formed in 2005, being a group consolidated by IDIAP Jordi Gol and linked to the Center for Biomedical Research in the Network of Diseases Hepatic and Digestive (CIBEREHD). At the moment it is constituted by a stable group of researchers, made up of 7 doctors, a research technician, 4 nurses and a pharmacist. So far it has been characterized by the development of population studies in primary care. One of them included a total of 766 subjects being the basis of the first and only study on the prevalence of non-alcoholic fatty liver carried out in our country. Another study finalized recently with a total of 3076 subjects on the early detection of liver fibrosis in the general population. Study that has aroused much interest in the results obtained. We are currently tracking this cohort.
