GEPALAP

Study Group of Musculoskeletal Diseases in Primary Care

This group consists mainly of primary care professionals from the Baix Llobregat Primary Care Service of the Catalan Institute of Health (CIH). Since 2004, the GEPALAP Group has undertaken research projects aimed at improving the treatment of musculoskeletal diseases using physiotherapy and rehabilitation. From the beginning, this group has collaborated with the Physiotherapy Research Unit of the Health Sciences University of Zaragoza, where some members are lecturers in the Physiotherapy degree programme. The main goal of this group is to advance the efficacy and effectiveness of physiotherapy and rehabilitation techniques in treating musculoskeletal diseases. It also aims to evaluate and validate exploratory techniques in manual therapy or functional and physiotherapeutic diagnostic orientation.
