Chronic and Complex Wound Research Group
The group that is presented is made up of primary care professionals, who emerged naturally from the care activity around chronic and complex wounds (CCF), but who have been carrying out in a specific and cohesive way for years before the establishment of an FCC Unit in 2018.
Currently in full development of both healthcare and training and research activities, in permanent coordination with other units in the field of primary care and reference hospitals (Bellvitge University Hospital, Sant Joan de Déu Health Park and Sant Joan Despí Moisès Broggi Hospital).
It is made up of Núria Tuset, María José Portillo, Montserrat Villanueva, Mónica González, Arantxa Humanes, Francisco Javier Rodríguez, Susana Casaus, Isabel Plaza, Marta Prats, Núria Vidal, Núria Villanueva, Jordi Casanovas, Gemma Trujillo and Miguel Ángel Díaz.The group includes Mateo Acedo, nurse and head of the Technical Secretariat of Primary Care Management (DAP) South Metropolitan (MS), and María Jesús Megido, Nurse and associate professor at the University of Barcelona (UB), coordinator of the Master's Degree in Advanced Practice Nursing at the University of Barcelona. The group has the support of Oriol Cunillera, statistician, and Jesús Almeda, medical specialist at the MS Research Support Unit.
Objectives:-To improve the quality of care for people with FCC: establishing a common methodological model in actions that improve the quality of life, clinical efficiency and sustainability of the health system, through evidence-based practice.
-To establish a space for updating and excellence in training and research in FCC

- Evaluation of the diagnostic validity of routine TDI in the early diagnosis and stratification of high-risk neuropathic, neuroischemic or angiosomal disorders (distal angiopathy and distal MAP) subclinical in the field of PC. DERMATOO. PI: Miguel Ángel Díaz Herrera.
- Effectiveness of a comprehensive model of care for complex chronic patients or patients with advanced chronic disease in terms of reducing hospital admissions at the SAP Baix Llobregat Centre. 2022-2025. PI: Mª Jesús Megido Badia.
- Utilization of rutinària infrared dermal thermography in the precocious diagnosis of diabetic drugs (neuropaths, neuroischemists and subclinical angiosomal disorders). (SLT021/21/000059). Generalitat Catalunya. 2022-2025. PI: Miguel Ángel Díaz Herrera.
